In Venezuela, the Maduro dictatorship is stepping up its use of death squads built to eliminate any resistance to the socialist regime. These death squads are part of a 2017 security unit called the Special Action Forces (FAES), which Maduro created to “join the fight against crime, against terrorism and against right-wing terrorist groups.”
According to the Spanish newspaper, El Mundo, 641 members of FAES have terrorized people suspected of opposing the regime, killing thousands and committed many other violations of human rights. The group travels around dressed in black with balaclavas and carrying weapons. According to U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, “Families of the victims described FAES breaking into their houses, taking their belongings, and exercising gender-based violence against women and girls, including forced nudity,” her report explains. “They would separate young men from other family members before shooting them. According to their relatives, almost all of the victims had one or more shots in the chest.” At least 7,523 people died as a result of resistance to the regime in 2018 alone, according to the Venezuelan Observatory of Violence.
This rise of far-left terrorist groups has been seen domestically too, with the rise of ANTIFA. ANTIFA members wear a similar uniform and are extremely violent. Could this be an example of what is coming to the United States sooner than most people realize? Considering recent reports that show leftist ANTIFA members met with ISIS and Al Qaeda terror groups, I would say the answer is yes.
