Three NYPD officers have committed suicide in 9 days.
The first officer, Deputy Chief Steven Silks, was pronounced dead June 5th. He was found in his car suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. This was the night after he handed in his retirement papers after 38 years on the job. He was the chief of the second officer.
The second officer, Detective Joseph Calabrese, killed himself hours later. Calabrese was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound near his car close to Plumb Beach in Brooklyn. It has been suspected that both of these officers were involved in the Weiner laptop investigation.
The third officer was also found dead from a gunshot wound in a parked vehicle near Sanders Street. All three of these officers died similarly and without warning. People close to these officers were shocked at the news of their suicides.
Two things I want to know right now concerning these suicides:
1. Will the NYPD Treat this issue with more than window dressing?
2. Did any or all of these cops have anything to do with the Weiner laptop investigation?
