A man has been arrested after allegedly going on a stabbing and robbery spree, killing four people and injuring two others on Wednesday night. According to police, the suspect used “multiple knives or machetes” in the attacks, and he has been identified as a documented gang member who had previously been in prison for selling methamphetamine.
“Four people needlessly lost their lives tonight from this savage suspect. This is a brutal attack,” said Garden Grove Police Lt. Carl Whitney at a news conference on Thursday. “This is tragic. We don’t want to see tragedy like this happen. It’s been happening across the United States.”
This incident comes days after a total of 31 people were killed in mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio. It also happened days after a man with a gun prevented a mass shooting in Springfield, Missouri.
The typical definition of a mass shooting is a shooting where four people are shot. In this scenario, 6 people were stabbed, 4 died. Like I always say, an attacker can kill with a fork if it’s the only weapon they have. Motivation is what allows a person to kill, not access to a firearm.
