Rep. Pete King is First Republican to Support Assault Weapons Ban

I’m extremely disappointed with Representative Pete King who decided to give our Second Amendment over to the leftist in this country.

An assault weapons ban that has been pushed by Democrats just got its first Republican supporter, Long Island Rep. Pete King.

“They are weapons of mass slaughter,” King said after his support became public on Monday, clearly unaware that rifles of any kind account for less than 3-percent of gun homicides.

“I don’t see any need for them in everyday society,” he continued, highlighting his obliviousness of the foundation of our country.

“I think the assault weapons ban is timely now,” he claimed, demonstrably ignorant of the previous assault weapons ban from 1994-2004 that was shown in many studies to have no measurable impact on gun violence.

I’m extremely disappointed with Representative Pete King who decided to give our Second Amendment over to the leftist in this country. I have seen first-hand how his district has become increasingly worse with gangs and drugs, yet now he decides to take away his constituents’ ability to protect themselves? This decision will haunt his legacy and make all his congressional decisions and relationships questionable.
