And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I choose not to worship politicians or any of the governments Senior Executive Service members.

According to Fox News, “the Justice Department has decided against prosecuting former FBI Director James Comey for leaking classified information following a referral from the department’s inspector general.”

Michael Horowitz was reportedly investigating whether classified information was given to unauthorized sources, including the media, by Comey.

But Comey admitted that he had intentionally leaked a memo from a key meeting with Trump to a friend in the media after he was fired to prompt the appointment of a special counsel. Comey testified, “I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter—I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel.”

Fox News reported, “Comey penned memos memorializing his interactions with President Trump in the days leading up to his firing. He then passed those documents to a friend, Columbia University Law Professor Daniel Richman, who gave them to The New York Times. Comey admitted to that arrangement during congressional testimony.”

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I choose not to worship politicians or any of the governments Senior Executive Service members. Many of the people at this level have their own dark secrets. But even if they don’t have secrets, these members of our “ruling elite” will rarely get any punishment at all for blatant wrongdoing, instead, they will simply walk away or in some cases get a promotion.
