‘Gun Free Zone’ Law Disarmed Shooting Victim

As most gun-rights advocates point out, people who are willing to murder are not stopped by gun-free zones, but law-abiding citizens are.

The night before the recent Virginia shooting, where Kate Nixon and 11 other victims were murdered by a disgruntled employee, the Virginia Beach city employee discussed bringing a gun to work for self-defense with her husband. She was blocked by the city’s ban on employees carrying firearms to work.

As most gun-rights advocates point out, people who are willing to murder are not stopped by gun-free zones, but law-abiding citizens are. This may seem obvious, but leftists seem to be surprised every time a criminal breaks a law. When a criminal sees a “gun-free zone,” they see a “defenseless victim zone.”

The founding fathers are still right over 240 years after creating the Constitution, and the God-given rights they hoped to ensure are just as necessary today as they were then. If we adhere to them now we will continue to live as they did, free and independent and able to ensure our own individual security.

According to the National Safety Council at the CDC, at least 500,000 to 3 million lives are saved yearly by firearm defense. If it was not for the unconstitutional city ban on self-preservation through firearm defense, Kate Nixon and many others might still be alive today.
