Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids were reportedly delayed last weekend due to a link within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Two senior administration officials admitted to Buzzfeed News that it is believed widely within ICE that the acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan, or one of his staff, leaked key details of the operation.
One of the officials told Buzzfeed: “Leaking the locations and details to stop the operation from happening not only harmed operational integrity, but it put the safety and well-being of his own officers in jeopardy. The ICE mission is enforcing the nation’s laws and ensuring those who are unlawfully present in the country are removed if ordered by a judge; this will leave an unerasable mark on his tenure.”
This is just one of the examples of untrustworthy people within the government who intend to undermine our country. President Trump displayed his warranted skepticism on Monday when he refused to confirm whether he had confidence in FBI Director Christopher Wray. When asked about his faith in Wray, Trump told The Hill “Well, we’ll see how it turns out.”
Both of these stories reflect the continued effects of an active deep state at the top of the federal government. It is imperative that President Trump stop hiring people that orbit Washington D.C. and start looking for highly skilled experts he can pull up through the ranks of their perspective agencies.
